Willis L. Towne is listed as a Boston photographer for the
period 1881-1899. He was the successor to Simon
Wing at the 425 Washington Street location - even using Wing's
woodcut images and text in his own advertising.
Apparently, he also involved his family in the operation, since Mrs. W.L. Towne, Mrs. Clara F. Towne, and Mrs. Ober Towne are all listed as photographers at the same Washington Street address during the 1890s. |
