Nadar fils (Paul Nadar), Paris, Photographer
Official Eastman Kodak reproduction of an 1890 studio portrait of George Eastman

Nadar was Eastman's representative for the Kodak Camera in France, and the two had a good working relationship. When Eastman was in Paris on business, he stopped by Nadar's studio to have his likeness taken.

He is but 36 years of age at the time of this portrait; the Kodak camera has been on the market for barely two years. Still, his distinguished and determined pose suggests that he is ready to accept the challenges as well as the wealth and success of his rapidly growing company back in the States.
